Higher level reading, writing, and research skills begin during the middle school years. Literature, mathematics, science, and social studies are an area of focus. Pre-algebra is required for all students. Students may accelerate their study in mathematics and progress to the study of algebra. Research skills are introduced through a major required research project. Keyboarding and word processing skills are taught to all students. Spanish study is provided for all 8th grade students. Students are introduced to the study of technology. Exploratory programs in art, music and drama are included. A tutorial program is offered to all students to support the required programs.
